To Honor God

As a child of God and a keeper of my home, how do I give honor to God? I long for this in my own life, in my children, and in my home. So I went to the Source of Wisdom and here are a few verses I've found:

"For God bought you with a high price, so you must honor God with your body." 1 Corinthians 6:20(NLT)

"...we ask God to give you complete knowledge of His will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding. Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit." Colossians 1:9 & 10 (NLT)

"When He [Jesus] comes on that day, He will receive glory from His holy people - praise from all who believe. And this includes you, for you believed what we told you about Him. So we keep on praying for you, asking God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call. May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. Then the name of our Lord Jesus will be honored because of the way you live, and you will be honored along with Him. This is all made possible because of the grace of our God and Lord, Jesus Christ." 2 Thessalonians 1:10 -12 (NLT)

It is God who gives me the grace to honor His name. I simply cannot come up with the right "formula" on my own. I can't just try harder, be stronger, or do a lot of good "self-motivated" works. But I believe God has made every provision for me to fulfill His Word.  According to these verses, it's by...

Faith in the midst of hardship (2 Thes. 1)
Walking in Wisdom from God and His Word (Col. 1)
Believing in the full price that Jesus paid for my salvation (2 Thes. 1)
Asking God to teach me, fill me, enable me (Col. 1 & 2 Thes. 1)

When I surrender myself and choose to put my faith in Him, I receive the Holy Spirit's power to honor His name, to do good works, to please God!

In conclusion, this is what my life is all about! With just a little blog on the internet, by the words I speak, through the fragrance that surrounds me, may God be glorified and made beautiful!

"Our lives are a Christ-like fragrance rising up to God." 2 Corinthians 2:15 (NLT)
