Columbus with Jacquelyn

A day of joyful delights has as much potential
to increase my faith as a day of difficult trials.

It has to do with my perspective.
If I surrender the controls of my life to Jesus Christ
and ask His Spirit to lead me, all things work for good.

Philippians 4:11 says,
"I have learned, in whatsoever state I am,
therewith to be content."

The world, the devil, and our mind
tend to make us feel a sense of guilt
when we are basking in delights,
and try to consume us with
dark depression when trials abound.

So it becomes strikingly clear that what matters most is not
our current situation but where our heart and mind are focused.

How gloriously all of life is enveloped in our amazing
Savior, Friend, and Guide, Jesus!

Each day is a gift!

And what a splendid day Jacquelyn and I had in Columbus...
shopping, lunch, exploring, bookstore,
topiary park, ice cream shop, light shows.

And even if we can't buy all the things that make us happy
We can certainly snaps lots of photos!

Delicious lunch of chicken burritos at Chipotle.

In the morning we asked God to lead us.
There is such security in that,
for we know He can handle whatever comes our way,
even if it doesn't go as we'd planned.

To make sure I stay wide awake
I must grab a latte with an extra shot of espresso,
one of my favorite hot drinks!

It was a day of faith-building moments
as we saw God keeping His covenant of
grace, mercy, and righteousness through Christ.

Jacki and I both love a grey cold day
now and again for it requires of us
a wrapping up of ourselves
in a blanket of coziness!

It is quintessentially Winter!

You may wonder why I say this day built faith in us.
This is why...
Jacki was so beautifully
free, joyful, thankful.
It was a miracle of the grace of God.

The last several years of our lives
has been tinged with the shroud
of oppression that Jacki has been battling with.
There have been many defeats as well as victories,
but God is fulfilling His promise
of complete triumph one day at a time.

When in Easton, the best little sweet spot
is Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream!
We got Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel,
Espresso, & Sweet Potato (yes, it is yummy)!

Every step of fighting the enemy of our souls
is a step of glorious faith toward God.
We delight in His freedom.

The Topiary Park in downtown Columbus!

Lights aglow!
The lights on the topiaries never came on
but the surrounding trees lit up while we were there!

As we drove home in the evening
our hearts nearly burst with joy
at the beauty of this day of grace
and freedom through the power of God!
No enemy is strong enough to conquer
the hope He has given us.

And now, if you struggle to believe that God
will set you free from a trouble in your own life,
may our testimony be an encouragement to you!
The Lord is our Triumph!
