The Cross

Image
"If any of you wants to be My follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow Me." Mark 8:34

In exchange, this is what the Lord says to us...

"I will give your life to you as a prize in all places, wherever you go." Jeremiah 45:5
Oswald Chambers..."Are you prepared to let God take you into total oneness with Himself, paying no more attention to what you call the great things in life? Are you prepared to surrender totally and let go? Once you do get to the point of total surrender to Him, you will be the most surprised and delighted person on earth. As I ponder surrender, the cross, giving my life, I realize there is so much about this subject I do not understand. I long to know God, to be approved by God my Father. I've been asking to know Him for such a long time and wanting to live life His way, with His joy. But how? I find so mu…

Life Better

John 10:10 "I am come that they might have life,  and that they might have it more abundantly."   ~Jesus
We play little games at making life better, make attempts at living fully, but Jesus alone is Life better, Life beyond all our greatest efforts. As we become hidden in Him and He begins to radiate from our lives, then and only then, is Life at its best.

Our hearts long for that freedom from crying and pain, so we search for answers. But how foolish is our greatest knowledge and finest answer. In contrast, how infinite is the wisdom in Jesus. Why do we even try to figure it out on our own? Oh, the pressure from all around to live life t…

"Flowers appear on the earth,  the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land." Song of  Songs 2:12

Great is the excitement and anticipation when I can finally take that trip (those many trips) to the local greenhouses to choose my spring flowers! Each year I revel in the delights of finding new flowers and plants for my gardens. Each year I have a different array of colors and a specific theme.
My purchases lined up in the patio, ready for planting...

I chose silver, black, and white! It sounds a bit formal and cool but I hope it becomes elegant and beautiful as the summer unfolds.
The large urn by the kitchen door holds purple fountain grass and a dark coleus for the black, wave petunias in white, then dychondra silver falls and dusty miller add the silver.

A few weeks later it is bursting with white, now if the black and silver can just keep up!

The pots in the shade or under roof in the patio have white impatiens instead of wave petunias.

The three hangi…
