Fifty Years

My husband Dale has reached a momentous milestone today and I wish to honor him! This post is to celebrate him and his life! We might not do huge birthday parties, but our family plans to celebrate him in a small way, today and this weekend.
He is truly the Zest, the Leader, the Humor, and the Father in our home. We love him and love to be with him!
He was born on January 27, 1966...what a cute little darling!

He is about 6 years of age here, alongside two of his younger siblings, Joan and Ruth.

About 21 years old...

The first time I saw him was at a little country church in Montana. He was visiting friends; I went to see family and friends. It just so happened both of our friends were in the same church! He was from Ohio and I was from Pennsylvania, but it took a trip to Montana to catch our first glimpse of each other!

Though I had never seen him before and had no idea who he was, he caught my attention that Sunday morning and I never forgot him. I was only 14 years old! He was 23. I saw…

January Journaling

"Every morning I will sing with joy about Your unfailing love. For You have been my refuge, a place of safety when I am in distress." Psalm 59:16

Who of us sings every morning? Who is thankful in all things? It is not possible by human standards, but that is where the transforming power of Jesus comes in, enabling us to fulfill His commands.

I love this month of January, not because it's so special or I'm such a rare species of human who enjoys cold weather, but because I am learning, by God's grace, to be thankful in all things, as He commands us to do in 1 Thessalonians 5:18.
"Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus."
That attitude leads to finding a host of things to  really truly love, whic…

Sugarcreek Snowscapes

Snow! It brings joy to some and distress to others. I am in the "some" category and had a most delightful enjoyment of it this morning. Join me in a walk through our little village all bedecked in pure white beauty!

How happy we were to meet up with this sweet pair who also wanted to take in the fun and festive appeal of snow!

A darling cottage on Main Street...I always get such delight out of that cute little place!

Oasis Tabernacle, our church just down the street, is seemingly getting buried in the world of white!

Jacki is slowly being coated with snowflakes while we walk the streets of our village and attempt to capture the snowscapes!

A few snapshots of our own home amid the blowing snow and winter grandeur!

Due to the wintry conditions, Jacki does not need to report to work today, which adds much happiness for both of us. I am indeed blessed to have her for my walking/picture-taking companion!

Sometime this afternoon we must return out of doors and shovel snow off the sidewa…
