Heaven's Kingdom

"The Kingdom of Heaven can be illustrated by the story of a king who prepared a great wedding feast for his son. When the banquet was ready, he sent his servants to notify those who were invited. But they all refused to come!" Matthew 22:2,3

We struggle with why there is evil in the world, why God does not stamp out violence and wrongs. But we do not see clearly or understand aright. The truth is as quoted from the Word of God in those verses...

"They all refused to come!"

Mankind tends to be a sordid, selfish lot, thinking everything should revolve around us and our pitiful ideals. The purpose of life is much larger and grander than man can fathom. When once we come to realize that fact and get out of the center of our lives (surrender), there is a glorious Kingdom of Heavenly standards opened up to us.

We are invited to the greatest feast of all time and eternity, that of the marriage between the God of Creation's Son and His beloved bride.

But listen!

The story has a surpassingly marvelous mystery woven into it. We...those who accept the invitation and surrender the self-centered life...are the very bride whom God's Son is to marry! This is no fairy tale. It is the amazing truth of the gospel.

We are not only invited, we are the reason for the wedding and feast and celebration. I pray the King of this Heavenly Kingdom will open our eyes to see and think and live as He desires because we do not want to miss His plan, this magnificent feast and marriage to His Son.

It is obvious that human intellect or reasoning can never grasp Heavenly principles. But there is hope. That hope is in the Father's Son, Jesus Christ the Savior and Bridegroom. When we relinquish our hold on life to Him and lay it all down at His feet, that is worship.

Because of that complete surrender He gives beauty, joy, praise, love, and an enduring faith in Him that will last through the end of our earthly pilgrimage. Then, glorious thought, we will have new bodies and no need of faith for we shall see Him and be with Him.

I won't quote all the verses from Matthew 22, but due to the first-invited guests refusing to come to the feast, the king sent his servants to the street corners (thoroughfares or crossroads) to invite that set of people and I believe it's where my Lord found me.

It is amazing that the Lord of Heaven's Kingdom is now throwing His gates wide open for all, not just the first-chosen Jewish people. But there are requirements and guidelines, all of which are wrapped up in acceptance of His Son as Savior, Lord, and Bridegroom. If we try to enter any other way we will be thrown out.

It is like a beautiful letter of love from the king of a faraway kingdom. The letter contains a mysterious message that requires supernatural wisdom to unravel. But He has provided for that need by sending His Holy Spirit to guide us into all truth. There is nothing left undone. He has given all the necessary instructions for our preparation to enter into this wedding feast with His Son.

Why should we ever question His methods and motives? Our own ideas of good and right are distorted in light of His plan. It is sufficient to know He is planning for us in love...

"The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; He will save; He will rejoice over thee with joy; He will rest in His love, He will joy over thee with singing." Zephaniah 3:17

I do not profess to have all the answers as to why we suffer, but I trust Him with the questions and thank Him for the answers He does give. I choose to believe He is Love and He loves me. I am excited and amazed and humbled to be invited to the wedding feast in the Kingdom of Heaven!
