An April Day

Come along with me on a day that proved to be therapeutic as well as productive. I was on a mission to collect information on plants and get groceries afterward. Yay for smartphones! By snapping pictures rather than writing down the details on paper or typing it into my phone gardening list I was able to compile a list easily and quickly.

Comparing prices and plants at several greenhouses is beneficial in that it makes the actual shopping day, a week or two hence, seem more orderly and productive.

These flowers proclaim my color for the year. Red it is, the one shade I have been avoiding due to the red brick covering our house. Now it's time to give it a go.

Because of a stop at Lehman's Hardware, I swung through Kidron. Just a wild guess on my part, but is there a chance this is livestock auction day?

With Family in PA

The occasion that had the Yoder and Miller families gathering in PA was my cousin's wedding, but I failed to get a photo of the bride and groom. It was a beautiful celebration and we were so happy to be able to share the day with all of them.
In the evening my branch of the family met at a lodge we had reserved for a few days. One man is always particularly loathe to have his faced photographed, but I'm convinced he attracts more notice with his arms up like that!

I snapped a few photos over the next few days. Amid cold and snow and rain and clouds, we did manage to have one lovely afternoon of blue sky and sunshine. It was cause to slowly and cautiously trickle out into the sunlight on the back porch. Some of the gang thought it was too cold but most of us ended up out there to catch a few rays and watch the kids play. 

How happy I am to be reunited with my darling nieces and nephews. They light up my life!
